- Open your image in Preview
- Click on the pencil icon, 2nd to last button on the right, to show the Markup Toolbar.
- Then, click on the of the first button for Selection Tools (dotted square outline), and then click “Elliptical Selection”
- To create a perfect circle, hold the Shift button on your keyboard, then click and drag anywhere in the image (around the subject’s head would be best).
- If you would like to move the selection, hover over any part of the dotted selection until you see a hand cursor. Click and drag to move the selection.
- If you want to change the selection size, hold the shift key, then click and drag any of the blue dots in the corner of your selection.
- When you’re satisfied with your selection, click the Crop button on the right.
- When it asks if you want to convert the document to a PNG, click on the blue Convert button (only PNGs can be uploaded for our avatars).
- You’ve successfully cropped an image into a circle.
- To resize it to 60x60 pixels, click on Tools in the top menu bar and then click Adjust Size.
- Change the values for width and height to the preferred dimensions, then click OK.
- To save the image, simply hit command+S or click File and then Save.
- Make sure to name the file as “[employee’s email]@upwork.com”
