Overview
This document outlines the steps for integrating DemandScience Data Studio with your Microsoft Dynamics 365 instance.
Customers who integrate their Data Studio instance with Microsoft Dynamics can access features on the following app pages:
- Data Studio (formerly the Account Hub)
- Opportunity Insights
- Dashboards
- Scorecard
See here for a list of all fields required for Dynamics CRM integration.
Note: DemandScience Data Studio does not support integration with an on-premise deployment of MS Dynamics; however, organizations using an on-premise CRM may instead be eligible for our List-Based Data Studio configuration.
Prerequisites
- This integration requires an Azure/Dynamics 365 Admin user to configure.
- Your organization must have the application for DemandScience Data Studio integration installed in Azure. Microsoft’s instructions for registering an application can be found here.
- The user setting up the integration must have an active account for the DemandScience Platform, with access to Data Studio enabled.
Connect DemandScience Data Studio with Microsoft Dynamics (aka "OAuth")
-
Any time that you may need to connect with Dynamics, such as when connecting for the first time, follow the below steps to "OAuth" (i.e., connect).
Either clear the browser's cache/cookies or open an incognito browser window. This ensures you and the API Integration User are both logged out of the CRM system.
Log into https://app.demandscienceplatform.com/ with your username and password.
Drill into Data Studio.
Copy/Paste the following link into the address bar if you are not redirected: https://studio.demandscienceplatform.com/onboarding
Follow the integration instructions on screen to connect with your organization's Dynamics instance. When the Dynamics-hosted login page appears, make sure to use the API Integration User's credentials, instead of your own.
And now you're done!
DemandScience will automatically be notified of the successful connection and will begin syncing your CRM data to Data Studio. If your organization is onboarding and it is the first time connecting, then it may take up to 3 business days for Dynamics365 data to appear in Data Studio.
If you have questions at any point in the process outlined above, please reach out to your DemandScience Onboarding Specialist or Support through the DemandScience Support Portal for assistance.
